Immediate Ceasefire in Libya

The Libyan foreign secretary announced an “immediate” ceasefire in response to the no-fly zone enacted by the UN security council. Well, Gaddafi proved to be not very serious, he had planned his Endsieg for today, yesterday military acts in the Mediterranean Sea were announced, and now they want to stop the civil war and implement human rights, but meanwhile fights in Misrata are going on, that clown Gaddafi is amusing, but of course not that funny for his subjects. What has this to do with Free Software and KDE? Not much, but I thought most people would be interested in it.

The political actions in Germany, where I live, seem to be especially interesting. Since many years Gaddafi’s regime has been supported by the German intelligence corps BND and German armor corporations like EADS (which is not just German, but European) and Heckler & Koch, which can look retrospectively at a history of scandals. Now our foreign secretary Westerwelle does not want to look back, if there had been any political responsibilities.

He has been against the no-fly zone and strictly against German military support for their implementation. He spoke about imposing sanctions – very efficient in a situation where the revolution could have been struck down within days. So Germany was the only Nato-member not voting for the no-fly zone in the UN security country. Well, Gaddafi had already commended Germany some days ago, while his “friend” Sarkozy had become mad in Gaddafis judgement, we could have been his new friends, together with nice democracies like Russia and China. But even the Arab League supported the no-fly zone and some of their members (probably Qatar and the Emirates) want to support the implementation.

Few words about the news coverage: The news were featuring too much information about Japan, of course it should be on the title page, but why should there not be news about the decision in the UN security council there, too? Instead of that you can read a lot of pointless stuff in the newspapers, pointless stuff about Japan, end consumer information about nuclear stuff, regional nuclear power plants, and really pointless stuff about singers or a murderer having been imprisoned since years (I have had a look at the famous Bild newspaper today, the worst newspaper in Germany, larger than the New York Times). A bit more attention for the revolution would be really nice.

Al Jazeera: Libya declares ceasefire but fighting goes on
Taz: Ticker Bürgerkrieg in Libyen (German, very up-to-date)
ARD: Immer zu Diensten – Die deutsch-libysche „Wertegemeinschaft“ (German, Always at Your Service – The “Community of Values” between Germany and Libya)

Who’s worse, Gaddafi or a future of communism with the United Nations.

  2. The User Says:

Well, nobody’s planning a communistic world republic with the UN, so I would say Gaddafi, for now.

  3. Pawlo Says:

Maybe not with UN, but with EU. However, Gaddafi should be stopped.

  4. Anonymous Says:

Obvious that EU and the UN are communist. I mean everything which has to do with social control has to be communism, that is what Rambo told us… dumbass. Your sexus searches socialialisation, too, so burn that little communist before it gets affected by AIDS from all those communist UN/EU humanitarian helper (wo)men out there trying to reach you… They get closer, closer, omg, they are sooo filthy, here take this gasoline and the lighter from me before it’s too late… .

Nice article though, refreshing to keep some news floating around on the planet about the stuff which is happening out there. Not that it does not have to do with FOSS and KDE. The new arab countries are very interested in their freedom and as they have used Twitter and Facebook (which have been blocked), they are interested in alternatives. Microsoft is already trying to lobby in Tunisia… Imagine what it would mean for FOSS if they would make it default.

If your knowledge is limited to some Rambo movies then get some facts. EU has its roots in the USSR. It’s also worth noting the Germans nazism, was nothing more than a nearly exact copy of the Soviets Union totalitarian system. Today, we’ve got EU which has the same goals – make a one, big super country divided into, so called lands (something like states in US) controlled mainly by Germany with capital in Brussells. It’s happening right now. The Brusells decide how much goods some country (land) can import/export, Brussells law is more important than members laws etc. It’s complicated, but I don’t see a single reason to explain this to person who writes such crap.

  6. The User Says:

EU has its roots in the USSR.

Well, it has its roots in ECSC and Euratom, founded for economic cooperation, for keeping a strong economy against the USSR. That has nothing to do with communism. Of course the EU is against protectionism, but that is good for the world’s economy and you should be happy that the times of mercantilism (especially with absolutism ;)) are over.

It’s also worth noting the Germans nazism, was nothing more than a nearly exact copy of the Soviets Union totalitarian system.

Both were totaliarian systems, noone of them was communistic. In that context you should not forget one difference: The Third Reich was nationalistic, they wanted the world to be ruled by Arian Germans. The Soviet Union was imperialistic, too, and they did harm to occupied countries, but they were internationalistic, they wanted to cooperate with other countries, not just to betray them some years later. And that is a difference.

Today, we’ve got EU which has the same goals – make a one, big super country divided into, so called lands (something like states in US) controlled mainly by Germany with capital in Brussells.

What is bad about supranational politics? Why should there not be political decisions across borders? Or, why should there be nations, why should the basic rights be different in France, Germany, Poland or Libya? That is nonsense, we should not care about borders and nationalities, well Nazis cared did not care about borders, too, but they cared about nationalities, and that made the missing care about borders a bad thing. The common politics are good for the EU, but there are some problems with democracy, democratic legitimation etc., the parliament has too few rights. You cannot say it is mainly controlled by Germany, there are subtile, often strange, regulations, e.g. Germany has the least parliamentarian per capita, and in elections not only the majority of parliamentarians but also the majority of nations must vote for a decision etc.

The Brusells decide how much goods some country (land) can import/export…

That is command economy, right, it is probably bad for the EU, because it does not work very well here (there may be different situations where it may be appropriate), that is not communism, but, well, it has something to do with it. However, nothing is bad about a common constitution, common law, cooperation etc.

@Pawlo Boy you should have read Marx. Just because the sowjet union said that they were communists doesn’t mean that they were. If you have already recognized that governments usually tell the opposite of what they do, then you should be sceptical of any socialist government. Historically Stalin has killed the most communists. Only him, Molotow and Lenin (which died before Stalin took power) of the original polit bureau died naturally. All others having been part of the revolution were killed by Stalin and his aparatschiks. You don’t do yourself and others a favour when you quickly explain history by simply setting all your problems in an equation with communism.
Just because you make up your world conspiracy doesn’t free you from oppression ( = idealistic bends of the world don’t change it materially). And then please stop the Nazi bullshit in Poland. It is as ridiculous as Russian Nazis… Hitler wanted you to work for me and my fellow Arians on plantations, not making conversation with us. The EU at least basically gives you equal rights, although it is badly dominated by Germany and France.
Btw. in the end all of Germany was bombed and the Germans (not the industrialists) had nothing of it, so remember who financed the Nazis to power in autumn 1932…

What is bad about supranational politics? Why should there not be political decisions across borders? Or, why should there be nations, why should the basic rights be different in France, Germany, Poland or Libya?

Because there are people who want to live in their country. It means – culture, religion, laws, politics. I have nothing against some basic laws, but I don’t buy the leadership of Brussell etc. There are many people who want live in independent Nations rather then in EU. Many countries suffer from the EU politics. One can say they shouldn’t agree to belong to it, but if there are EU lovers (or betrayers) in authorities what someone can do? It’s just example, because there are exception from the rules.

  9. Pawlo Says:

    @Anonymous

I got your point. Saying it’s EU is communistic rather than UN I was according to the previous guy. I should be clear. I didn’t have Marks on my mind when I was writing this. You have mentioned EU is dominated by Germany and France and this reminds Germany politics in the second WW (btw. France is very weak today, dominated by the Muslims) who wanted to enslave others. Todays, it seems they’re going to do the same, but on a different levels. As far as I know only Germany has saved itself from the Treaty of Lisbon adding some exceptions which allows their law to be more important than laws underwritten in mentioned treaty. I don’t know why others didn’t do the same, though. Btw. I have nothing against Germans or other nations. When I mention some country I mean its governent and/or people who have bad will. Nationality doesn’t matter for me.

  10. The User Says:

Because there are people who want to live in their country. It means – culture, religion, laws, politics.

That are those babbit’s beliefs which made it possible for the NSDAP to get their votes. Rightism, nationalism, xenophobia, racism, homophobia etc. are not better in France, Poland or the USA than in Germany, that is always bad (of course today the situation is not as bad as in the Third Reich).

You have mentioned EU is dominated by Germany and France and this reminds Germany politics in the second WW (btw. France is very weak today, dominated by the Muslims) who wanted to enslave others.

Nobody in Germany wants to enslave others by supporting the European integration. The rightist extremists in Germany are strictly against the EU, because it involes cooperation and integration instead of protectionism and nationalism. In fact, that are nearly the onliest ones opposing the EU in Germany. I do not want to say that you are a Nazi because you do not like the EU. I just want to clarify the political positions in Germany with the last few sentences. And of course France is not dominated by Muslims, but they fail at integrating people from Muslim countries. That is miserable, but it is nothing bad about people from Muslim countries in Europe, and of course nationality or religion should not be relevant for politics, a politician can be an Arab or a Turk, why should they be worse at ruling us, as long as they stay secular? That is crucial for every politician, whether he is a Muslim, a Christian or a strong atheist.

I have nothing against some basic laws, but I don’t buy the leadership of Brussell etc.

Well, but the Treaty of Lisbon is exactly about such basic rights and laws, which should be the same for every human (and maybe chimpanzee ;)) in the world. And it is not a matter about the place where the herrschaft/authority gets exercised from, but about democratic legitimation and control. Yes, the EU itself is not democratically legitimised, but is there any legitimate state in the world? It has always been the result of unfairness, chance etc., because states and nations are just nonsense, it is against the human rights and justice.

  11. Pawlo Says:

The things you have mentioned here aren’t so bad. ;> It’s better than the left who spreads sick ideologies. Btw. being a patriot doesn’t mean you’re a xenophob, racist, homophob (homosexualism was considered as a disease, but homosexual lobby changed its qualification). Homosexualism is also against normality – it’s unnatural, it’s pervertion.

Nobody in Germany wants to enslave others by supporting the European integration.

In every country there’s a group of people who tries to reach some goal in cost of others. I’m not saying Germany as a whole wants to dominate etc. but there are some people who does the things wrong. There are examples, but it’s too early to judge. Btw. I have nothing against EU if it won’t interfere in religion, culture, industry and social life of its members. It should be based just on a strict cooperation and help countries to grow as they want imho. Maybe this was the original idea of EU (I’ve even voted to be in EU), but it seems it’s changing now.

According to some labels like anti-semite or homophob, if there are no labels like anti-German, anti-Polish, heterophob it’s just uneven treatment. In example it was proven 40% of Security Service agents in Poland (People’s Republic of Poland actually, communism times) were Jews. Those Jews were judging and killing our officers (gen. ‘Nil” for example) from WW2 and when this raport was publicated it was called ‘anti-semitist’. Could you believe? Todays we know the names, but nothing has been done from ‘some’ reasons. The Jews even wants money from us, because of property they left when they were probably fleeing… It’s worth to note the communistic People’s Republic of Poland actually paid them. This was just to show it’s better to not use some labels if those lables serves only politics and aren’t fair.

  12. The User Says:

    Btw. being a patriot doesn’t mean you’re a xenophob, racist…

No, but being a nationalist implies such things, a patriot can still be internationalistic.

Homosexualism is also against normality – it’s unnatural, it’s pervertion.

They are not doing any harm, they just want to live like they want to do, like everybody else, it is not immoral, they can feel love and limerence like heterosexuals. Human rights an d democray are also unnatural, I think this quote by Bakunin may fit here:

Until the days of Copernicus and Galileo everybody believed that the sun revolved about the earth. Was not everybody mistaken? What is more ancient and more universal than slavery? Cannibalism perhaps.

Please do not try to justify your homophobia here.

Btw. I have nothing against EU if it won’t interfere in religion, culture, industry and social life of its members.

How does the EU prevent you from engaging in Polish culture and arts? Just because you may be confronted with other cultures, the Polish culture will not die, it is a good thing to experience other cultures and why should they not influence the way of living?

According to some labels like anti-semite or homophob, if there are no labels like anti-German, anti-Polish, heterophob it’s just uneven treatment.

Sorry, but I do not know any heterophobic person in the world. Nobody prevents you from using such adjectives, but you should not generalise using those adjectives.

Yes, those jews may have killed the officers, but that is not the right formulation, it was not “the jews’” fault but the faut of all those agents, some of them were jews. The background of criminals may be interesting for statistics, but you cannot just pick those people you do not like, the agents were a problem, not the jews. Talking about the crimes and mentioning the statistics would not be anti-semitic, but picking out the jewish suspects, that is anti-semitism. You can also speak critically about Israeli politics, but it is not about the Israelis or the jews, it is about the Israeli politics.

The Jews even wants money from us, because of property they left when they were probably fleeing… It’s worth to note the communistic People’s Republic of Poland actually paid them.

You are generalising again, “the jews”, “they have been paid”, some have been paid before, some want money now, courts should decide if some of them may already have got enough compensation money. Your differentiation between “the jews” and “us”, that is nonsense and anti-semitism.

  13. Pawlo Says:

No, but being a nationalist implies such things, a patriot can still be internationalistic.

    Internationalistic in what terms?

They are not doing any harm, they just want to live like they want to do, like everybody else, it is not immoral, they can feel love and limerence like heterosexuals.

You’re generalising here. There are many of them who harm others. Imagine ‘family’ where there are two fathers. It’s not only unnatural, but the child who lives in such ‘family’ has messed up mind. Btw. how homosexualism is different than perversions like zoophilie or pedophilia? One can argue:

They are not doing any harm, they just want to live like they want to do, like everybody else, it is not immoral, they can feel love and limerence like heterosexuals

How does the EU prevent you from engaging in Polish culture and arts? Just because you may be confronted with other cultures, the Polish culture will not die, it is a good thing to experience other cultures and why should they not influence the way of living?

Like this way: The European Court of Human Rights can enforce decisions which will colide with some country law, so this country will have to change its law or pay.

Sorry, but I do not know any heterophobic person in the world. Nobody prevents you from using such adjectives, but you should not generalise using those adjectives.

I wasn’t generalising here (and I won’t be). There are some heterophobic persons in homosexual lobby.

Yes, those jews may have killed the officers, but that is not the right formulation, it was not “the jews’” fault but the faut of all those agents, some of them were jews.

Yes, it was fault of all of those agents, but in this case the Jews agents (not others) actually killed gen. “Nil”.

You can also speak critically about Israeli politics, but it is not about the Israelis or the jews, it is about the Israeli politics.

This is true, of course. Like I said before I don’t judge someone because of nationality.

You are generalising again, “the jews”, “they have been paid”, some have been paid before, some want money now, courts should decide if some of them may already have got enough compensation money.

I wonder how do you know ‘some’ where paid, not all of them? As far as I know all of them have been paid.

Your differentiation between “the jews” and “us”, that is nonsense and anti-semitism.

If I say: the Germans and us (Polish), is this a nonsense and anti-germanism? As far as I know Jews aren’t Polish.

  14. Pawlo Says:

It will be great if there will be some info how to quote sentences. ;)

  15. The User Says:

    How to quote: use HTML,
…

    That internationalism.

There are many of them who harm others. Imagine ‘family’ where there are two fathers. It’s not only unnatural, but the child who lives in such ‘family’ has messed up mind.

One mother or one father can nurture, why should two mothers or two fathers not be able to do that?

Btw. how homosexualism is different than perversions like zoophilie or pedophilia?

How is heterosexuality different from such perversions? Maybe the reason is that it is based upon mutual love, liability and voluntariness, like homosexuality.

Like this way: The European Court of Human Rights can enforce decisions which will colide with some country law, so this country will have to change its law or pay.

Sounds very logical, what is the usage of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights if nobody can enforce them?

There are some heterophobic persons in homosexual lobby.

Nobody wants to forbid people to be heterosexual – nobody.

I wonder how do you know ‘some’ where paid, not all of them? As far as I know all of them have been paid.

I am sure there were at least two or three persons not having been paid adequately, let the courts decide.

As far as I know Jews aren’t Polish.

Huh? Why should Jews not be Polish or German or whatever? E.g. in Germany there lived many Jews for long time, German citizens, belonging to Germany, until Hitler came with his strange ideas about races. And of course I do not differentiate between Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Atheistic and Agnostic Germans, unless it is about religion, but they are Germans, because they live in Germany and belong to this country.

Ever wondered why there are virtually no Jews left in Poland, while in other countries they are still there? It is because the Polish are the worst racists in Europe, even worse than the Germans were during WW2! I heard witnesses on the radio say that during WW2 the Polish (not the Germans) collected the Jews of a certain village in a wooden building and then burned the whole building. Sadly, this is not true. There’s so many Jews in my country you can’t even imagine. Some of them occupies mainstream media like (gazeta wyborcza, tvn) and spreads lies and propaganda against Polish people. The same way like you.

I heard witnesses on the radio say that during WW2 the Polish (not the Germans) collected the Jews of a certain village in a wooden building and then burned the whole building.

I heard the same from anti-Polish Jew – Jan Gross and from tvn. It seems tvn was advertising his lattest ‘book’. Guess what? Tvn makers are… Jews – Wejchert and Walter)! The same about ‘Gazeta wyborcza’ – Michnik aka Szechter.

I heard other witnesses say that the Polish inhabitants of Oswiecim were quite happy with what happened in the camp next to the village…

The Gross’ lies. Change your teacher, please.

@Pawlo: you believe in communislam? http://thejuicemedia.com/
The problem is not, like you suggest, your fuzzy notion of leftism, the problem is real. It is not a conspiracy… we all participate in a system which has enormous flaws and discriminates against each one of us, against some more, against others less and some are proactively chosen to fulfill the systematic functions which are bound to capital. But they are not really free. If they decide to not play by the rules they lose their power in the same moment, so it is not personal power you have to target, but you have to understand how power builds up and where it comes from. Capitalists come from capitalism not vice-versa… and so do all figures of power, being it the Nazis (being financed by the big German industrialists since WWI), the Israeli government, Hosni Mubarak and his “democratic” party or the Obama administration and your funny government bros (from which one wisely decided he could overcome the pilots decision to not land in serious wheather conditions).

Economy is a crucial part, since power is at most represented in private property in our society. That was the reflection of Marx and that was a motivation of historical materialism. But Marx himself said that it is in no point by no means finished, it is a histrorical product itself and has to be reflected by us to help us to emancipate from the chains which bind us to power. So you can take him and measure every person claiming to be a communist in these means of emancipations and freedoms. All other leftist are less radical, so if you communism is about freedom and emancipation you can really measure the others with it…

I was according to Jews from WW2 who wants money from our government and who don’t have Polish nationality (to be clear I didn’t mean those who have Polish nationality…). However, I consider Jews (don’t know how many there are, but its founders are Jews) and Polish people from tvn (iti group) to be simply anti-Polish betrayers. The same about ‘Gazeta wyborcza’ (agora), Jan Tomasz Gross etc.

  22. Pawlo Says:

I probably got your point, but sometimes there’s different approach needed.

(from which one wisely decided he could overcome the pilots decision to not land in serious wheather conditions).

This is a lie. Seriously, it’s a part of anti-Polish propaganda made by part of ‘our’ government and by Russians. Our President who died in Smolensk was an only president who cared about our interests. There’s very big probability he and 95 people were simply killed. The Russians cleared the crash site, cut the wreckage, we don’t even have the black boxes(!), lied. It’s mainly fault of ‘our’ current government who’s anti-Polish and who gave the investigation away to Russians. Btw. it was already proven the ground personnel has misled our pilots.

Take a look at those pictures, it’s impossible plane that crashes from the altitude of the first floor to look like this (two last pictures):

Couldn’t you stop categorizing people by their religion?

  25. The User Says:

    Okay, by their ethnic group…

  26. Pawlo Says:

@Pawlo, the education system in my country doesn’t teach the children that the Polish are racists. The things I said, I learned them in the media (and not even the media of my own country). Can you explain why the Germans only built extermination camps in Poland and why they transported the Jews from France, Belgium, the Netherlands and other countries occupied by the Germans to Poland to exterminate them there instead of building an extermination camp in e.g. Belgium (small country, easy to oppress and therefore easy to do there whatever you want) and have all the Western European Jews exterminated there (that would mean less transportation costs, less chance of the Jews escaping the train, …)? Why concentrate the extermination camps in one country (it could have been understandable if there was only 1 extermination camp, but there are 6 and all of them are in 1 country)? The answer I heard in the media is that the Polish were more receptive to those ideas than any other nation in Europe.

It also strikes me that in the 21st century there are still people in Europe who hate Jews while all other nations in Europe have finished with this kind of racism a long time ago.
